Mission Statement of the Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen Club of America Foundation, Inc.

The Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen Club of America Foundation, Inc. was established to protect, support, defend, promote, educate and preserve the health, breeding, well-being and integrity of the Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen through the receipt and administration of funds for charitable, scientific or educational purposes through contributions from the general public.

“My favorite characteristic of the breed is their fun and easy going personality, coupled with their whimsical scruffy look. The minimal shedding and relatively easy upkeep is a perk as well. The size is also appealing as they are not too much for a child or older person to handle, but they are still large enough to make a good protection dog.”

Why do GBGV’s make great pets?

“Those big brown soft eyes immediately grab at your heartstrings! The ones that I have been associated with have been playful, loving, curious and protective of their humans. They can be stubborn when asked to do something they don’t want to do! Overall, pleasant to live with and do well in a family setting.”
